These terms apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who purchases or downloads content from Language Roots Hub. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

2. About Language Roots Hub

Language Roots Hub is an independent digital platform founded and operated by Bro Jerry, based in Ghana. We build free, searchable, trilingual dictionaries and sell cultural resources, including phrase books and heritage wall calendars, for West African languages including Nawdm, Ewe, Kabiyè, Twi, and Gã.

3. Free dictionary services

The online dictionaries provided on Language Roots Hub and its linked dictionary apps are offered free of charge for personal, educational, and research use. You may:

• Search and view dictionary entries freely.
• Submit word corrections or suggestions through the built-in suggestion tools.
• Share links to dictionary entries or pages.

You may not:

• Copy, scrape, or extract dictionary data in bulk for any purpose without our written permission.
• Use dictionary content to build a competing product or service.
• Misrepresent the source of dictionary content.

4. Digital products: phrase books and calendars

Language Roots Hub sells digital PDF products including African language phrase books and heritage wall calendars. When you purchase a digital product from our store, the following terms apply.

Licence granted: Upon payment, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable personal licence to download, view, and print the purchased PDF for your own personal use only.

File delivery: Digital products are delivered as PDF downloads via our Paystack storefront. Your download link is generated automatically after payment is confirmed. It is your responsibility to download and save your file. If you experience a problem with your download, contact us at dictionaries100@gmail.com within 7 days of purchase.

5. Refund policy

Because our products are digital files that are delivered immediately upon payment, we do not offer refunds as a general policy. Once a PDF has been delivered, the sale is considered complete.

However, we will issue a full refund or replacement in the following circumstances:

• The file you received is corrupted or cannot be opened.
• You were charged but did not receive your download link.
• You were charged twice for the same product in error.

For print-on-demand calendar orders, refund requests related to printing quality or non-delivery must be made within 21 days of the expected delivery date.

6. Print-on-demand orders

When you request a physically printed calendar by email, the following additional terms apply:

• You must provide an accurate delivery address. Language Roots Hub is not responsible for failed delivery due to an incorrect address provided by the buyer.
• Delivery times vary by location and are not guaranteed. Estimated delivery times will be communicated when your order is confirmed.
• We use a third-party print partner (Gelato) to print and ship physical orders. By placing a print order, you consent to your delivery address being shared with our print partner for fulfilment purposes only.
• Payment for print orders must be made in full before printing begins.

7. Intellectual property

All content on languagerootshub.com is the property of Language Roots Hub and Bro Jerry unless otherwise stated. This includes but is not limited to the website design, page layouts, CSS styling, written content, dictionary structure and organisation, phrase book designs, calendar designs, and all associated graphics and visual elements.

The dictionary entries themselves represent facts about living languages, which belong to their speaking communities. Where entries draw from published academic sources, we acknowledge those sources and have built upon them with original work including translations, cross-referencing, and the digital platforms themselves.

You may not reproduce, copy, republish, or create derivative works from any content on this site without our explicit written permission.

8. User-submitted content

When you submit a word correction or suggestion through any Language Roots Hub dictionary app, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, review, modify, and incorporate that submission into the dictionary. You retain no right to compensation for accepted suggestions. We are not obligated to accept or publish any submission.

By submitting a suggestion, you confirm that the content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not infringe any third-party rights.

9. Accuracy of content

We work hard to ensure the dictionaries, phrase books, and calendars are accurate. However, language is living and complex, and we cannot guarantee that every entry, translation, or date is error-free. If you find an inaccuracy, please report it through the dictionary suggestion tool or by emailing us directly.

Language Roots Hub makes no warranty, express or implied, that the information on this site is complete, accurate, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use of the dictionaries and resources is at your own discretion.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Language Roots Hub and Bro Jerry shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of this website or any product purchased from it. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or any other loss arising from reliance on content found on this site.

Our total liability to you in respect of any claim arising from your use of the site or purchase of any product shall not exceed the amount you paid for that product.

11. Third-party links and services

Language Roots Hub links to external services including Paystack for payments, individual dictionary apps hosted on separate platforms, and Gelato for print fulfilment. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of any third-party website or service. Use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and conditions.

12. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of this website shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

If you are accessing this site from outside Ghana, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws applicable to your use of this site and any products purchased.
